From Isabella Falls to Hann Crossing

We are up and on the road by 8.45 after yet another windy night. First stop is Isabella Falls which is a very pretty waterfall.

Isabella Falls
Back on the road again stopping at the Old Laura Homestead for morning tea.  The house still stands with some of the outbuildings remaining.  It reminds us of an old abandoned station near Meekatharra, WA, that friends took us to.

We had lunch at the Old Brezza Homestead but there's not much left of this old place except some magnificent 100 year old mango trees for shade to have a great stop under. Rob noticed the Waeco is not working properly due to the safety switch which he disabled for the time being.

At last we arrived at the Hann River Crossing in Lakefield National Park which has some idyllic campsites right on the water, to set up for the night. We hadn't prebooked as we didn't know that Hann River was within a National Park, so Shari & Ian shared their large spot with us. The Queensland National Parks now requires prebooking but some sites which were booked accordingly were already occupied by others (who probably didn't pre book) and so since some of our sites were huge and so spaced out we had 2 or 3 campers per site and so our mob didn’t worry too much about it all.  We didn’t see a ranger, but we gather from others this pre booking is not working out very well at all.
When we had set up camp, we went and sat our chairs in the river for happy hour with Ian, Wes and John and their families. The others didn't join us tonight for whatever reason - I think they didn't want to unhitch and we were too far spread out to walk!
