Nanango

Nanango is a small country town of about 4000 located roughly 180 km northwest of Brisbane on the D'Aguilar Highway. Nanango is well represented for campers of all sorts. There are 3 caravan parks and a free camping ground. It has recently been officially declared a RV friendly town just a week or so back.

We stayed at the Nanango Caravan & Motorhome Park as this was where friends of ours were staying helping out the owner who is trying to get the park back up to scratch after the previous manager had let it run down. The Nanango Caravan Park is a friendly quiet place just 4 km south from the centre of town.

One unique feature of this caravan park is that all of the sites have their own private ensuite.
This caravan park has also just been listed with the CMCA DollarWise Park offering cheaper $10 per night to CMCA members only. Check out the conditions first though.

Each powered site comes with their own private ensuite

There are several places within close proximity for you to visit if you want to use it as a base camp for sight seeing.

Kingaroy We saw this delightful hay stack on the side of the road somewhere between Kingaroy and Nanango.

Bunya Mountains National Parks We had a delightful if cool day there.

However our time here was essentially to relax and enjoy the company of our friends, Steve and Lorraine. Through them we got to know Robin & his delightful partner Cherie.  Lorraine and I just about commandeered the rec room here since there wasn't many campers at the time we were here. Lucky for us!

Crafting with Lorraine
The outcome of both Lorraine and my productivity in Nanango.
While still in Nanango I celebrated my birthday and my hubby really pulled a surprise party out of the hat for me. Steve, Lorraine, Robin and Cherie were all involved.
