Stop and look, don't just drive through

We love to stop in towns rather than just pass through. You just never know what gems you will find.

It might be  a terrific little park, or a vintage wares shop. Maybe there's a unique historical museum. Here's a a few gems we noticed recently.

Here’s the Train Park in Dimboola, Victoria.

How's this for a quaint coffee shop. A vintage caravan has been set up permanently in the Kangaroo Valley as a coffee shop. By the way there's a terrific free camp in Kangaroo Valley too right on the river and you'll see dozens of wombats and wallabies esp at dusk almost every night.

We enjoyed the  Easter Festival in Warracknabeal. There was a great little street parade followed by a busking competition in the riverside park complete with Lions BBQ, emus and other bird life 🦅 .

The true message of Easter

A vintage fire truck was part of the many vintage cars in the parade

Relaxing with some great music and a sausage sizzle
In the town of Koondrook you will find many wood carvings as you meander along one of the walks

Keeping an eye on you
Sometimes there's beauty in the night lights such as from the free camp grounds looking across the waters to the town of Cohuna.

The town lights reflect on the waters
So there's beauty in many unexpected places. Slow down, even better stop a while and discover what makes a town unique.

Enjoy your travels, the slow living way!
